In 1927, King George V and Queen Mary visit Downton Abbey, causing a stir among the Crawleys and servants alike. Downton has been tightening purse strings and running with less staff than previously but former head butler Carson is brought back for the important royal visit. Meanwhile, the Dowager Countess is butting heads with guest Lady Bagshaw and it looks like a romance is brewing between Branson and Bagshaw’s maid Lucy. And Lady Mary is toying with the idea of setting up a new life away from the estate.

DOWNTON ABBEY took the world by storm when it debuted as a television series in 2010, gaining popularity throughout its six-season run until finally calling it a day in 2015. If you were sad to see the series end, you will be undoubtedly excited about the film.
